16 years ago I was a grad student looking for part-time work and direction when I came across an ad looking for an ABA therapist for a little boy with autism. I had no idea what ABA was, but I had some experience with autism and other developmental disabilities, so I answered it. I was hired, and I have found my passion. That lost grad student is a very happy Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA).
It is currently estimated that approximately 1 in 160 children worldwide are affected by this disorder. I am excited to be joining SkillCorps’ Tanzania team in February 2020. It will combine my passion and skills as a BCBA and my love of travel. It is the project’s goal to create sustainable services for individuals all over the world. Everyone has the right to reach their full potential.
