Miss Dorsey is going ABROAD and needs your support!
As most of you know, I have been working my DREAM JOB for the past six years. Being "Miss Dorsey" is the favorite part of my day, week, month and each school year. Teaching students with Autism has been both rewarding and fulfilling, and has permanently impacted my life for the better. The years I have spent in my classroom has taught me more than I ever imagined. I have gained the knowledge and skills, and grew my passion in ways I want to now share outside of my favorite four walls. Traveling to a different country to teach others how to work with students with Autism excites me beyond measure. I have a gift for working with people on the spectrum that I now want to share with the WORLD!
I have been accepted to join the SkillCorpsⓇ Team and I am NOW* going to KENYA in February 2020!
SkillCorps team members travel to Global Autism Project partner sites -- all over the world! SkillCorps teams are made up of skilled professionals and self advocates working in the field of autism education. Our teams are trained and prepared to support educators, leaders, parents, and advocates working in their own communities. SkillCorps is an innovative travel and training program which encourages collaboration, cultural exchange and understanding, with a focus on sustainable impact. We believe that local people will lead the way in activating acceptance and opportunity for people with autism in their own communities, and our SkillCorps teams are there to support them every step of the way!
THANK YOU for helping me make a difference!!
Any contribution, big or small, is largely appreciated. Please know that your donation will help support the programming and maintenance of international partnerships, and a portion of the trip itself. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have.
*The Antigua trip was postponed until July. I was given the option to wait or pick a new country. After much thought, I have chosen to go to Africa this February!
