Thank you for taking the time to view my page. Let me give you some more information about this fundraiser, the Global Autism Project, and why I needed to be a part of it.
The Global Autism Project is a nonprofit orgnaization driven by one vision: a world where all people with autism can reach their potential, no matter where they live. Through the project, we will train teachers, empower local people, and hopefully provide tools and resources to reach sustainablity even when we have to leave!
I wanted to share a video that I saw on the Global Autism Project website that immediately struck my interest and prompted me to apply to join this project.
I am currently in my third year of teaching as a High School Intervention Specialist. Throughout my education and career, my goal has always been to help my students be as successful and independent as they possibly can in society. I love to teach, but I have always had the desire to act as an advocate for my students and the autism community as a whole.
When I was asked during my interview why I wanted to go to India, I have to admit that I got choked up a bit. I am so ready to learn, collaborate, be inspired, and hopefully be able to "help with" in order to change the lives of people with autism.
I cannot THANK YOU enough for joining me on this experience. No matter your contribution, big or small, financial or otherwise, your support means the world to me. YOU make all the difference.
“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”
