I added a major dimension to my career last year by achieving my five-year goal of becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. In addition to my university career, I am also doing something I never envisioned myself doing... providing in-home behavior support to special needs children and their families.
I recently had the honor of being selected as a Skillcorps volunteer and will be traveling in July to Guayaquil, Ecuador, to work with children with autism and their parents and teachers to provide badly needed services. As part of the team, I am responsible for raising funds to support the clinic and the year-round efforts there. I am seeking sponsors for this very worthy cause and hope you will consider both making a donation and passing this link on to other interested parties. This is an opprtunity for me to combine my passion for travel, Spanish and applied behavior analysis and contribute to an important cause. Skillcorps volunteers are responsible for their own travel expenses; all donations here go to support the organizaation, particularly the local clinic.
SkillCorps team members travel to Global Autism Project partner sites -- all over the world! SkillCorps teams are made up of skilled professionals and Autistic self-advocates working in the field of autism education. Our teams are trained and prepared to support educators, leaders, parents, and advocates working in their own communities. SkillCorps is an innovative travel and training program which encourages collaboration, cultural exchange and understanding, with a focus on sustainable impact. We believe that local people will lead the way in activating acceptance and opportunity for people with autism in their own communities, and our SkillCorps teams are there to support them every step of the way!
I have a January 30th deadline to raise half my funds, or $2500. All donations, large or small, are appreciated.
