My name is Chrissy Schenk and I am a speech and language therapist from Nashville, TN. I began my journey in this field with a singular goal in mind; to help others learn to communicate. Early on in this career, I realized that I had a special place in my heart for children with autism. I have found these children to be unique, challenging, funny, and often times... misunderstood. For individuals who are non-verbal or have little communication, many (especially in developing countries) believe that they have no potential to understand the world around them. My expertise in communication and the autism population will hopefully teach fellow educators and community members: how language and the autism brain works, ways to teach functional life skills, and how important human connections are for happiness. I can't thank you all enough for your consideration in donating to this cause. I look forward to doing my part in helping others see the world from a different perspective.
