Hi everyone!!! Thank you so much for taking a look at my donation page. I am so excited to tell you all about why I chose to apply for this organization and why I decided to choose China as my top desitination.
For the past several years, I have worked as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and throughout the years, I have worked exclsuviely with children with autism. As an RBT, I have implemented the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). As a result, I have seen significant gains in the area of increased communication, daily living skills, social skills, and a reduction in maladaptive behavior from the kiddos I have worked with.
I have enjoyed learning and working so closely with children with autism over the years. However, I realized that I wanted to do more and travel, if possible. I was lucky enough to come across Global Autism Project, and decided to apply. Fortunately, I was accepted into their program that includes traveling to China for two weeks!
Global Autism Project is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Their vision is simple: a world where all people with autism can reach their potential, no matter where they live. During my time in China, I will be promoting the acceptance and integration of children with autism by training community members in culturally, relevant sustainable practices!
While I am in Nanchang China, I will be working at a center called Huicong. This school provides 1:1 services for children with autism in a classroom center. The center serves about 128 early learners. I chose this placement because of the urgent need for awareness and access to services. Furthermore, I am eager to learn more about a culture that I know very little about, and I believe I will find that in China.
If you choose to donate, you will be contributing to materials, meals, transportation, and more. Any amount is helpful and appreciated!
