Global Autism Project is a non-profit organization that’s goal is to spread awareness and acceptance towards children on the autism spectrum. Unlike the United States, many other countries aren’t fortunate enough to have the resources/knowledge needed to help the growth of children with autism. In many developing countries, autism is often viewed as witch craft or a curse. This misconception leads to children being locked away from the outside world, forcing them to face abuse and shame at the hands of their own communities. The families of these children don’t know any better which is where we step in. We work with partners across the world to train teachers at centers for children with autism. While creating an environment that embraces these children with open arms, we also get to change the stigma associated with this disability throughout the community.
In August 2019 I will be traveling to Indonesia to attend the very first Global Summit! I am raising money to help support this conference that brings together our partners, teachers, and visionaries to collaborate under one roof. These few days will be filled with interactive workshops, small group sessions and immersive presentations. Our partner sites will also have the opportunity to share and teach what has made their communities successful thus far. Global Summit will allow for future growth of partner sites which will ultimately provide services and education throughout new countries.
I am grateful to be a part of a non-profit that helps others grow, while allowing me to grow and learn right alongside them. An organization that pushes me out of my comfort zone to help make a sustainable change in this world!
Join me and together we can change lives of children and families all over, giving them the life that they deserve! If you feel drawn to support me and the work of Global Autism Project, I would be very appreciative! Global Autism Project Story: For over fifteen years, the Global Autism Project has been working with educators, leaders, and visionaries who are working toward one, shared vision: Create a more accepting, inclusive world for people with autism. While our partners have been collaborating with our team and other professionals in the field of autism education through our SkillCorps® program, something has been missing... the opportunity to collaborate directly with each other! Global Summit was created and designed to provide a platform for cross-cultural collaboration between our International Partners, outstanding SkillCorps® Alumni, and experts from relevant fields! Your support of the Global Summit will connect autism education leaders from around the world, giving them the opportunity to share their work outside of their countries for the first time ever -- connecting them to other visionaries just like them. Stepping out of isolation, our partners will finally see that they are not alone in this movement for change! Thank you for investing in the future of our partners, and the vision they hold for cultivating autism acceptance in their communities.
